Today’s Friday Glam Spam is yet another birthday girl: saronged siren Dorothy Lamour, who was born on this date in 1914. Best known for appearing in the Road to… series of comedies starring Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, Lamour was also a darling of the armed forces during World War II, being among the most popular pinup girls with soldiers as well as single-handedly promoting the sale of over $21 million in U.S. war bonds. I’m honoring Ms. Lamour this week not only in celebration of her birth, but also because I thought a few bathing-beauty photos might provide us all in the Northern Hemisphere with a much-needed reminder of warmer days!
